I know.

It's awesome. The cold colors are very, very nice. I'm interested in this character... do you have and background info on him/it? And speaking of backgrounds... the simple works... but the overall piece doesn't speak or give ideas to anything other than it's a mutant man arising from the steam.... *ghost noises*

Rhunyc responds:

Thank you! And no background info at all.. He just kind of developed with the idea/notion of making a gasmask with tusks.. Originally I had intended for it to be just a picture of a gasmask with tusks looking grotesque, but I couldn't frame it right, so I decided to give the mask/tusks a body to go with it.

And then the idea came along that he could be a general of sorts for some weird fantasy world. But I didn't like that idea after I thought more into it. SO, for now it will remain a mystery. Glad it intrigued you though! :D

Oh! I love it!

I think I know a way for you to fix her head size. It isn't her head size, rather her hair is a bit bulky near the crown area. It gives a bit of a light bulb shape to her head from this.

I do love the colors and the simplicity of the background. It makes it look a bit like a comic book cover. Given that the character is from a comic, more power to you.

However, compliments aside, I'm not really fond of the blurry coloring when viewed at full size. I thought I was becoming farsighted for a moment. This might be because you're coloring with airbrushing or you're smudging to get the color and tones right. Try working with sharper and crisper brushes and experiment with different opacity settings for the brushes to get unique fades and color transitions. (Though, this might just be a bit of a personal pet peeve as the composition looks lovely from a re-sized view. )

Thanks so much for the great review!

I'll try my best to keep the hair thing in mind. I have this obsession with big voluminous hair so I find myself doing that out of habit, haha.

As for the crisper edges, I'll definitely try to do that. So thank you!

It's lovely and surreal.

This piece reminds me of my brother's work. Or maybe it the beer guy that reminded me of that. It's a good piece nonetheless. :)

I'm just a man with the drive to make things.
